The Manifesto

We know what we are.

Read it once. Wear it for good.

They asked what we are.
We stopped answering.
Not because we don’t know.
Because we always have.

No percentage required.
No permission requested.
Light, by design.
We know what we are.

From the founder

Treated as Black by everyone. Questioned by our own.

I spent most of my life being treated as Black by everyone except Black people, my own family aside. I took the profiling and the mistreatment, then turned to my own people and heard the same thing. I spent middle school fighting over the colour of my skin. Fighting my own.

Most light-skinned people I know grew up embarrassed of their skin because of how other people made them feel. I chose a different route. If the home we were born into would not hold us, we would build our own, and be free in it.

So I always say it the same way.

Light Skin Army. We know what we are.

Lucas Warner, Founder

What the House stands on

Above the argument. Never above anyone.

i.

And, never over.

Our pride takes nothing from anyone. We answer colourism. We never practise it, and nothing we make ranks one shade above another.

ii.

No percentage required.

Blackness is not a number on a test. No one has to prove themselves to belong here, in either direction.

iii.

Army means rank, not war.

Solidarity, discipline and belonging. We stand shoulder to shoulder, and we carry ourselves accordingly.
